About
About
A vibrant new harbourside precinct for the Redland's community.
Toondah Harbour is an exciting new, modern coastal village that is set to transform the Redlands.
Along with a vibrant harbourside precinct, Toondah Harbour will also create stunning new foreshore parklands with a lagoon and water play area, walking, cycling and heritage trails, contemporary waterfront homes and marina coves.
Much-needed upgrades to the current ferry facilities will allow for easier access to Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) and, potentially, the southern Moreton Bay islands.
A range of new recreational boating facilities including marina berths will also bring additional tourism and economic benefits to the Redlands Coast community.

Over decades, Toondah Harbour has evolved into a busy passenger port that is surrounded by housing, local parks, roads, car parking areas, adjoined by wetland habitat and conservation area.
Toondah Harbour’s revitalisation will be a catalyst for new business and infrastructure investment, bolstering confidence in the Redlands Coast economic future and creating ongoing local employment opportunities for residents.

Project timeline
To ensure minimal disruption to the community, including residents and visitors, the Toondah Harbour project will be completed in stages. Being developed by Walker Corporation, with support from both state and local government, Toondah Harbour is estimated to take 15-20 years to complete. There will be no disruption to ferry services or net loss of ferry car parking during construction, and car parking will increase as project progresses.

A new state-of-the-art port facility: The gateway to Minjerribah and the bay islands.
As the principal point of departure and arrival for ferry services between the mainland and Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island), Toondah Harbour is already an important regional gateway transporting over one million passengers each year.
A new state-of-the art port facility and additional dedicated public car parking spaces for ferry users, will increase the capacity for charter and additional operators, which will facilitate investment in exciting new nature and culture-based eco-tourism experiences for the Redlands Coast.
Fixing the port requires more than a simple upgrade of the landside facilities and amenities. The shallow and narrow Fison Channel that links Moreton Bay to Toondah Harbour requires significant works to create a safer, wider and deeper channel for the ferry operators and recreational vessels who share the channel, both now and into the future.
Toondah Harbour will feature a vibrant portside promenade, future proofed port infrastructure and new terminal facilities. These facilities include charter berths, a larger harbour basin and two-way navigation channel to meet future use, local fish market and produce stalls, wharf-front cafes, overwater dining, an active port promenade, bus interchange, drop off zones, state-of-the-art cycle facilities and 30% more car parking for ferry users. The masterplan also allows for Redland City Council to build an addtional 500-space multi-deck car park in the future, if demand arises.
